Today was my first day, and this is how it went.
It all started when I woke up to the sound of a lady yelling in the hallway because Simon was "playing" with Sam in his bed. Not exactly the peaceful morning I had hoped for! After that, I had breakfast and got ready for work.
To make sure I arrived early, I took the bus well ahead of time. Unfortunately, traffic was worse than expected, causing major delays. Instead of arriving 15 minutes early as planned, I ended up being 2 minutes late. Not the best first impression!
Once at work, I quickly realized that I didn’t enjoy my job at all. My task was to research information for a Christmas book for the elderly in Dublin—completely unrelated to ICT, which is what I was hoping to do. However, there was a small silver lining: I discovered that one of my co-workers is from the Netherlands and speaks my language, which was a pleasant surprise.
Later, another student working there introduced me to a store that sells delicious and affordable brownies. That definitely brightened my day!
After wrapping up my shift, I hopped on my first bus toward "home," reflecting on everything that had happened.
