Today started like most mornings, with me hesitating to get out of bed. I really didn’t feel like getting up, so I stayed in bed for another half hour. Eventually, I forced myself to get up, took a shower, and had breakfast. At first, I was alone, but soon the rest of the house joined me, except for Gillian, who had already left for work early.
Around 8:30, I left home to catch the bus. Luckily, I left a little earlier than planned because the bus arrived a few minutes ahead of schedule. This way, I didn’t have to rush, and my day started smoothly.
When I arrived at work, I was about 15 minutes early, which gave me time to start everything up calmly. I hung up my coat, turned on the computer and the cash register, and logged into the system. Since there wasn’t much to do at first, I decided to grab a broom and sweep the floor. It felt good to have the workplace looking clean and tidy for the rest of the day.
Later on, some customers came in, requesting document prints. This was one of my tasks, and the rest of the day was pretty much the same: printing documents and selling small items. It was a calm workday with little variation.
Around half past two, I decided to head to Tesco to grab a small bite to eat. Afterward, I had a scheduled call with ADC College, where we briefly discussed how things were going both with my host family and at work. Shortly after the call, Mr. Van De Walle came by to discuss my progress. One of the supervising regular staff members, gave him feedback on how I was doing at work, and then Mr. Van De Walle and I had a short conversation about my internship.
After work, I got on the bus, and coincidentally, Mr. Van De Walle was on the same bus. We talked for about half an hour until he had to get off. I got home around 5:20 PM and had the house to myself for a bit. I decided to call my girlfriend, which was a nice way to spend some time.
Around 6:30, Rune VH and Elias came home, and dinner was scheduled for 7 PM. Gillian, Matteo, and Louis arrived just in time, around 6:54. We had delicious spaghetti with crispy garlic bread, which was really worth it. Since none of us felt like doing much afterward, we decided to just stay home and relax. It was a calm and cozy way to end a “productive” day!
