A day in the life of a intern in Dublin

I woke up at 6:30 A.M. and stayed in bed for about five more minutes before getting up. Then I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. After that, I started doing my makeup. At around 7:05 A.M., I was finished and went to choose my outfit for the day. The dress code at my internship is smart casual, so I chose to wear a pair of jeans and a black shirt. Once I was dressed, I made my bed and made sure everything in our room was clean.

After getting ready, I went downstairs to inform my host family that I was leaving for my internship. At 7:26 A.M., my bus arrived and I was on my way to work. I arrived at around 9:00 A.M. My mentor signed the attendance sheet and gave me the tasks I needed to complete today. First, I downloaded the documents she had sent me. My main task was to adapt the curriculum from those documents to match with the needs of the students at the school. I had to carefully read through everything and make adjustments where it was necessary. In addition to adapting the lessons, I also created a resource list so the teachers and staff would know exactly which materials they would need for the activities.

At around 12:30 P.M., I finished most of my work and went on my lunch break. Since I hadn’t brought lunch with me, I went to a nearby store, which my supervisor approved beforehand. After lunch, I returned to the office and completed the remaining tasks. I printed the documents, laminated the papers, and placed them in the designated box so they would be easily accessed by the teachers.

When my workday ended, I headed home. I had to take two buses. I only had to wait about two minutes for the first one, and later I changed to the second bus. At around 4:00 P.M., I arrived home. Because the weather wasn’t very good, my roommates and I decided to stay in and eat the dinner that our host family cooked for us. We ate around 6:00 P.M. After dinner, we went back to our room, each took a shower, and then decided to watch a movie together. At around midnight, we finally went to sleep.
