Today was my third day in Dublin, I’m slowly getting used to the public transport and my workplace. My day started at 06:30, I ate some pancakes and headed to work. After I finished up all of my tasks with the phones and the Excel sheets at my internship, I decided to head into the city center.

My first stop was the famous Temple Bar district where I met up with my roommate Nikolas after work. You can often see the area in a lot off travel photos, specifically the bar there because of the amazing looking lights and the red exterior. The area is filled with bright red buildings and traditional Irish pubs. Even on a Thursday, the place was packed with tourists and locals. You can hear live music in a lot of the pubs and even on the street there was a good number of artists playing guitar, violin or other instruments.

The absolute highlight of my evening was walking down Grafton Street. This street is world-famous for its street musicians (also called buskers here). There was a lot of REALLY good singers playing guitar. it’s like having a free concert on every corner.

While I was walking, I saw a street guitarist playing a song. Me and Nikolas looked at him for a few minutes and suddenly we saw a bride and groom appear with their family. They were still in their wedding clothes and started dancing to the music of the street guitarist. It was such a cool moment that you usually don’t witness every day. A whole crowd of people stopped to watch, cheer, and take photos.

After we wandered around for a while, I made my way to a bar called Bruxelles. It’s a legendary spot located just off Grafton Street with a lot of history. I went there to grab some drinks with Nikolas and just relax for a bit. It had a very nice laid-back vibe, and it was a fun place to sit down after a busy day of scanning hardware and working at the internship.

It has been a long but very rewarding third day. I’m learning a lot during my hours at MacroEV, but experiencing the culture and the music in the streets of Dublin makes this internship even better. I’m already looking forward to my next few days here!
