Meeting up with my students

Ah, my very first post here, even though I host the website.

After a shower and breakfast, I did a bit of work. Checking if the students sent in their blogs or vlog and filled in their Quickstage reports. Still a load of them that are not on time, which makes me quite frustrated.

By ten o'clock, my colleague Petra and me went out to the city. We visited Carroll's first, to buy a prize for the students for the contest in the afternoon, and some souvenirs for back home.

When that was done, we went towards the Temple Bar District, where we gave the students the choice to join us for a small meal. 6 students were present. We visited the little food market on Meeting House Square.
Afterwards we went for lunch at the Jervis Shopping Centre.

Once our stomach was filled, it was starting to close in on 1pm, the time we agreed with our students to meet with the entire group at Smithfield Square. By the time all students were there, it was 2pm. That of course didn't make me happy. After some words about the final day, the blogs, vlogs and Quickstage reports, we went over to the business of the day: the photo search contest. The students split up in groups of 4, and they received a copy of a series of tasks. On 6 different spots in the city they had to make a photo or a video and send it through WhatsApp to me. On each photo there had to be at least 1 student present.

A few group went for a drink or to eat, but there were quite some students who took the contest very serious. Each group had different spots, only the last task was the same for everyone: take a photo of your group on the Joker's Chair in Merrion Square Park. Then they had to find us nearby. It was fun to see the groups arrive at the chair and then look for us. The second group even called us on the phone while we were sitting 20m away! I could not stop laughing during that phone call.

Eventually there were 3 groups who got the maximum of the points, so I had to improvise an extra question. The group that had the closest answer were the winners.
The winners were the 2 Runes, together with Gilian and Matteo. Thanks to Matteo they were ultimately victorious. They received a huge stack of Irish chocolate and fudge.

I myself had to leave around 3.30 pm, cuz I had an appointment with some friends I had made in Dublin over the years. We had a nice chat and got some dinner, before I went back to myu apartment.
