Working with the mail

Hey, it’s me again, Jessica !

Today at my internship, I learned something super important : when you send letters in the mail, it’s really important to keep accurate records. So, whenever I send a letter, I always make sure to ask for a receipt or a sales ticket. That way, if there’s ever a problem, I have proof that the letter was sent and when it was sent.

One of my jobs today was to print and organize documents neatly. I had to copy the papers, make bundles, and stick them onto with strong tape. It’s a bit of a detailed job, but it helps keep everything in order.

In the morning, I was alone at the front desk and handled three phone calls pretty well. Later, my coworker Caroline joined me, and together we finished some work on the computer. We use this cool app called Leap, which is like a mix of Gmail and Microsoft Office. It makes our work easier ! Answering the phone can be hard sometimes, especially when someone talks really fast. Even though I asked them to slow down, they kept going fast. Luckily, Caroline helped out. I wish she was there earlier to see me handle those other calls on my own !

It was nice to have a visit from Mr. Van Der Elst during the day. I also checked in with my supervisor, Lisa, who’s working from home. And I asked if I could help with something today. One of the neighbours where I do my internship came to the office, and he was really friendly. He even shared some French words with me when he found out I’m from Belgium – it was funny !

After work, I went home, had dinner, and went to bed. Looking back on the day, I had lots of different experiences and met some cool people. It was a good day !
